Overview of models
The Q 1.2 Model
It couldn’t be more compact. With external dimensions of 1.2 × 1.2 metres, the Q 1.2 occupies a footprint of less than one and a half square metres, yet offers more than one square metre of space for passenger transport.
This makes it particularly suitable for comfortable and barrier-free access to private residential buildings where space is very limited. Driven by an electric motor via toothed belts, the Q 1.2 reaches a lifting height of up to 15 metres at a speed of 0.15 metres per second. As a platform lift in accordance with the Machinery Directive, it was designed for people with limited mobility and, due to the lack of a cabin door, may only be operated using a floor button that is pressed during travel. Unlike other platform lifts, this lift has a cabin that is closed except for the access side(s). During travel, a light barrier protects against unwanted approach to the open access sides of the platform. With a load capacity of 300 kg, the Q 1.2 can carry up to 4 persons.
The Q 1.5 Model
The Lifter Q 1.5 is slightly larger, with external dimensions of 1.5 × 1.5 metres, as indicated by its name. With otherwise identical technology, it is slightly more powerful and can carry a load of 400 kg, or 5 people. The platform offers an area of 1.37 × 1.37 metres. Like the Q 1.2, the Q 1.5 also complies with the Machinery Directive, travels at a low speed of 0.15 metres per second and therefore, unlike a lift, does not require a fully enclosed cabin. As with the Q 1.2, a light barrier protects against unwanted approach to the open access sides of the platform during travel. The Q 1.5 offers sufficient space and freedom of movement for wheelchair users and their companions. The square shape allows circular movements on the platform, which means that a wheelchair can be turned, which is particularly practical when boarding at an angle.

The Q 1.7 Model
The Q 1.7 is based on the same innovative technology as the other Q models. However, it offers the comfort of a fully-fledged lift in accordance with lift guidelines, with a completely enclosed cabin, and represents our own high standards in terms of both technology and aesthetics, which we apply when building our lift systems. This is also reflected in its high performance. Its 10.4 kW drive transports up to 9 people to a maximum height of 20 metres. The cabin travels at a speed of 0.8 to 1.0 metres per second. At maximum lifting height, up to 12 stops can be achieved.

Stable shaft – robust technology
A particular advantage of our Q‑series lifts is that we always supply the system complete with shaft scaffolding. This eliminates the usual on-site work, which in turn saves costs and takes up less space.
The shaft scaffolding, made of corrosion-resistant aluminium, which we manufacture to a high standard at our factory in Frankfurt am Main, is transported to the construction site as a fully assembled unit. This guarantees high installation quality and very short installation times, provided that the necessary planning and on-site preparations have been made. On-site lifting is carried out using a mobile crane provided by us or, if necessary, a construction crane available on site. Any road closures must be organised by the customer. Our lifetime guarantee against rusting through is further proof of our high quality standards.
The drive system in our Q models is also innovative: both the platform and the cabin are moved by toothed belts that run over rollers in opposite corners of the shaft frame. Counterweights, as required with a conventional drive, are not necessary. This saves installation space and investment costs. Since both the drive technology and the control system are integrated in the shaft head, the Q 1.2 and Q 1.5 require virtually no shaft pit. A recess of 70 mm below the upper edge of the finished floor is sufficient here. For the Q 1.7 with lift cabin, the shaft pit only needs to be 500 mm deep to ensure safe operation. Fold-out stops or pop-up buffers ensure safety during maintenance work. When these are used, the control system interrupts the lift’s operation.

The toothed belts are driven by an electric motor and a shaft mounted diagonally in the shaft head. The control system is also located there, eliminating the need for an external machine room or control cabinet. In addition to saving a lot of space, the toothed belt drive has other advantages: the belts are very durable and require little maintenance. In a single-family home with an average number of trips, maintenance once a year is sufficient. They also tolerate large temperature fluctuations. While extreme heat or cold can cause malfunctions in hydraulic systems, the toothed belts in our Q series perform reliably in summer and winter, even with high frequency of use.
