The models in the Thoma Lifter Q series, with their simple square base measuring 1.2 x 1.2 metres, 1.5 x 1.5 metres or 1.7 x 1.7 metres and access on all four sides, can be positioned according to your needs. The lifter makes optimum use of the available space.

The statically pre-tested and completely enclosed shaft structure eliminates the need to construct a separate shaft. This makes planning particularly easy and saves a lot of money. The drive and control system are integrated into the shaft head. This means that there is no need for space to install a control cabinet outside the shaft or even a machine room.

As the lift is delivered and installed as a complete component, only a few parameters need to be determined. The most important factors are the exact positioning and the number and location of the stops. The shaft frame has already been pre-tested, so the individual structural analysis usually does not require much effort.

The building permit process is also usually straightforward. The compact dimensions of the Thoma Lift fit within the specifications of state building regulations. To simplify the barrier-free retrofitting of a building, the legislature in Hesse, for example, stipulates that retrofitted lifts may not protrude more than 1.70 metres from the outer wall of the building. A distance of at least two metres from neighbouring boundaries must be maintained. The height of the building must not be exceeded by the lift system. This is where the reduced dimensions of the Q series come into their own.

The shaft frame and doors are made of silver anodised aluminium or, optionally, powder-coated aluminium in our standard colours: white (RAL 9016), grey aluminium (RAL 9007), dark grey (RAL 7043) or chocolate brown (RAL 8017). Would you like a custom colour? We will be happy to offer you your desired colour on request. Like the shaft frame, the cabin frame is powder-coated in our standard colours according to your choice: white (RAL 9016), grey aluminium (RAL 9007), dark grey (RAL 7043) or chocolate brown (RAL 8017). Other colours are also available on request.

The shaft and cabin walls of the Q models are glazed as standard. For outdoor installations, shaft walls made of safety glass are recommended.

There are further design options for the cabin walls of the Q 1.7, such as a glazed side wall or a mirror mounted on one of the powder-coated cabin walls made of aluminium sheet.

The Q‑series lifts are prefabricated as complete components at our factory in Frankfurt am Main. This enables us to guarantee high-quality workmanship and ensure that all components are optimally coordinated. Ideally, only a few days pass between delivery and commissioning.

Good preparation on site is crucial. An assembly scaffold is required from which the fitters can work, as well as a crane to lift the Lifter from the transport vehicle onto the scaffold. Sometimes the road in front of the construction site must also be closed, at least partially, for this process. Here, too, the better the preparation, the faster and cheaper the installation can be carried out.

There are various options for fastening, depending on the type of building and its structure. As a rule, various retaining brackets and angles are used, which are adapted to the respective building and the installation position. There is no trial and error on site with the Q series lifts. With careful planning, installation is a safe routine task.

The patented dust-free installation concept (DE Patent 10 2008 058 930) makes retrofitting indoors a clean affair. Due to the shallow pit depth, only minimal adjustments to the floor are necessary. The product is delivered in individual parts or as a pre-assembled shaft frame with built-in platform. Whichever option you choose, installation is quick and easy.
